Announcement: Participate in Operating the Library After Office Hours

 Dear B.Ed. 4th Year Students,

We are pleased to announce a unique opportunity for you to participate in the operation of our library after office hours. Your valuable contributions can play a significant role in enhancing library services and providing smooth access to resources for your fellow students and to the College administration. We will give opportunities to four students for two-semester duration for final year Student. 

 Engaging Role and Hourly Payment:

We are looking for responsible and committed students to take charge of the library during the after-hours period when the regular office staff is unavailable. Students selected for this role will be compensated on an hourly basis for their dedicated service.

Operating the library after office hours provides you with practical experience in managing library operations, customer service, resource organization and you will be able to function library when graduate from this College and implement your knowledge at any work place.

Contribute to Your Campus Community: By contributing to the smooth functioning of the library, you will be making a valuable contribution to the entire campus community's learning experience.

How to Apply: If you are enthusiastic about this engaging opportunity and want to be part of the library's extended support team, follow these simple steps:

  1. You must be a registered student of our institution.
  2. Submit your application expressing your interest in the role to Librarian Office.
  3. C.V including experience, qualifications and other experiences.
  4. Shortlisted applicants will be invited for a brief interview to assess suitability for the role.

Selection: 

  1. Candidates will be shortlisted from among the candidates based on the number of slots required.
  2. The shortlisted candidates will be required to seat for an interview with the HR committee with representation from the library management committee.
  3. The interview will be based on a close assessment of the CV and interaction with the candidate.
  4. The criteria for shortlisting of candidates and for the final selection will be determined by the HR committee.

Training: Selected students will receive training on library operations and responsibilities.

 Benefits: 

Student librarian will be able to learn basic knowledge on.

1. Functional of the Koha (open source integrated library system (ILS)

a. Cataloging. 

b. Circulation (check in and check out.)

c. Patron creating.

d. Barcode creating.

 2. Classification (DDC)

a. Learn how to classify the books. Referring oclc. 

b. Learn how to arrange books according to classification number.

c. Practical class on cataloguing. 

 3. Certificate:

a. Certificate will be provided based on performance.
